The American Standards Association is one that has made safety in the workplace a primary concern within the construction industry. It has played a significant role in developing standards for the safe and efficient use of conveyors and other equipment that involves moving parts. Since the Association’s initial involvement in the safety of conveyor operations in 1947, safety has been at the forefront of the industry.[1] The Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), is another agency that has changed the way the industry works with equipment and other materials.
