MANUFACTURER ARTICLE

Introduction

  • This section does not need a heading
  • The first instance of the company’s name should be bold (in the introduction only)
  • In this section, you can give an overview of the manufacturer, including things such as what the company does/sells, where they are located, when they were founded
  • Subheads should be in “Heading 4” size, and heads within subhead sections should be in “Heading 5” size and italicized

History

  • Entitle this section “History” in “Heading 2” size
  • In this section, you can provide details about the company’s history, including who founded it, why it was founded, and how it has grown or failed throughout the years
  • This section may also include information about acquisitions that may have taken place
  • Subheads should be in “Heading 4” size, and heads within subhead sections should be in “Heading 5” size and italicized

The Company Today

  • Entitle this section “The Company Today” in “Heading 2” size
  • You can include information about whether or not the company still exists
  • This section may include details such as the countries in which the company now operates, subsidiaries it may have, annual earnings, and the current leader (VP, CEO, etc.)
  • Subheads should be in “Heading 4” size, and heads within subhead sections should be in “Heading 5” size and italicized

Equipment List

  • Entitle this section “Equipment List” in “Heading 2” size
  • This list of the company’s equipment should be alphabetized
  • The list should be in point form, using the “Insert/Remove Bulleted List” button at the top of the page

EQUIPMENT ARTICLE

Introduction

  • This section does not need a heading
  • The first instance of the name of the equipment should be bold (in the introduction only)
  • This section may provide information about the name of the equipment and what it is used for
  • Subheads should be in “Heading 4” size, and heads within subhead sections should be in “Heading 5” size and italicized

History

  • Entitle this section “History” in “Heading 2” size
  • In this section, you can provide details about the piece of equipment’s history, including who invented it and when, why it was invented, and how it has been used throughout the years
  • This section may also include details about how the equipment has evolved
  • Subheads should be in “Heading 4” size, and heads within subhead sections should be in “Heading 5” size and italicized

The following three sections (Features, How it Works, and Types) can be written independently, or two or all three may be written together, as they are not always mutually exclusive. In this case, please indicate the section’s contents with a “Heading 2”- sized heading, such as “Features/How it Works/Types” or “Features/How it Works” (depending on which topics the section encompasses).

Features

  • In this section, you can provide details about the main features/components of the equipment (if applicable)
  • Subheads should be in “Heading 4” size, and heads within subhead sections should be in “Heading 5” size and italicized

How it Works

  • In this section, you can indicate how the piece of equipment operates.
  • Subheads should be in “Heading 4” size, and heads within subhead sections should be in “Heading 5” size and italicized

Types

  • Include information about the various types of the machine (if applicable). For example, an article about cranes may include paragraphs on all terrain cranes, crawler cranes, hydraulic truck cranes, etc.
  • Subheads should be in “Heading 4” size, and heads within subhead sections should be in “Heading 5” size and italicized

Common Manufacturers

  • This section should be entitled “Common Manufacturers” in “Heading 2” size
  • This should be a list of the common manufacturers of this type of equipment.
  • The list should be alphabetized
  • The list should be formatted in point form, using the “Insert/Remove Bulleted List” button at the top of the page

SPECIAL PROJECT ARTICLE

Introduction

  • Articles in this section should be about a construction project of some sort (tunnels, dams, railways, etc.)
  • It can include information such as what the project is, when it was constructed, where it is located, why it was built, and who carried it out.
  • Subheads should be in “Heading 4” size, and heads within subhead sections should be in “Heading 5” size and italicized

Construction History

  • Entitle this section “Construction History” in “Heading 2” size
  • You can provide details about the history of the construction of the project
  • Subheads should be in “Heading 4” size, and heads within subhead sections should be in “Heading 5” size and italicized

Equipment Used

  • Entitle this section “Equipment Used” in “Heading 2” size
  • This list of the equipment used during construction should be alphabetized
  • The list should be in point form, using the “Insert/Remove Bulleted List” button at the top of the page

Refurbishment/Recent Projects/Renovations

  • Entitle this section “Refurbishment/Recent Projects/Renovations” in “Heading 2” size
  • In this section, you can explain any upgrades or other renovations intended to be carried out on the existing structure
  • You may include details such as why the upgrade is taking place, and the projected cost and timeline
  • Subheads should be in “Heading 4” size, and heads within subhead sections should be in “Heading 5” size and italicized

Unique Facts

  • Entitle this section “Unique Facts” in “Heading 2” size
  • You can use this section to outline interesting facts about the project
  • Write these facts as sentences, and in point form using the “Insert/Remove Bulleted List” button at the top of the page

PROCESSES/USAGE ARTICLE

Introduction

  • You can provide an explanation as to what the given process is, and how it operates (i.e. what is excavation and why is it carried out?)

  • This section may include details about how the process has evolved over the years

Types

  • This section can be used to differentiate the various ways the process is carried out (if applicable)
  • Subheads should be in “Heading 4” size, and heads within subhead sections should be in “Heading 5” size and italicized

Process

  • Entitle this section “Process” in “Heading 2” size
  • In this section, you can explain how the process is carried out and how it works
  • Subheads should be in “Heading 4” size, and heads within subhead sections should be in “Heading 5” size and italicized
