Caterpillar D10 Crawler Tractor
The Caterpillar D10 crawler tractor was introduced in 1977. It was manufactured in the USA only.

The D10 has a D348 12-cylinder engine producing 700 flywheel horsepower (FWHP). It comes standard with combined steering and brakes, planetary final drives, and a three-speed powershift transmission.

It is available in two configurations: the standard model, with a 76X serial number prefix, has a track gauge of 106 inches (269 cm); the Low Ground Pressure (LGP) configuration, with a 84W prefix, has a 114-inch (290-cm) track gauge.

In 1980, the LGP unit received mid-engine turbos and dual exhaust, beginning with 84W00610. A year later, Caterpillar added a stronger bevel gear case, beginning with 84W00720.

A certified rebuild program was offered with this model, beginning with 76X75000 and 84W75000.

Production of the D10 ended in 1986.

Based on data from the sales database of Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers, it is estimated that more than 1,500 Caterpillar D10 crawler tractors have been produced.
