Drilling Barge

From RitchieWiki

Petroleum Equipment

A drilling barge is a drilling rig used in the petroleum industry for drilling oil wells in shallow water such as lakes, swamps, rivers, and canals. It consists of a floating platform that is transported to the drilling site by a tug boat or other means of transport. Drilling barges are not designed to handle the harsh conditions common in deep open water offshore drilling so their use is strictly limited to inland operations.
