The Heil Company was formed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin after in 1906 after the dissolution of the Heil Rail Joint Welding Company. Heil manufactured a wide variety of truck bodies and equipment, and introduced a line of pull and motor scrapers, which it sold to International Harvester Company on December 17, 1953. Heil itself was acquired by Dover Corporation in 1993, and it became Heil Environmental Industries and relocated to Alabama and Tennessee.[1]
