Right-of-way Maintenance
(a.k.a. Maintenance of Way) is the process of clearing vegetation from a path on private land. Right-of-way maintenance is usually performed by governments or private companies around pipelines, road medians, vacant lots, railways, national borders, and transmission lines.  Right-of-way maintenance alleviates problems associated with damage from overgrowth, allows for quick access to utilities for repairs, maintains boundaries, and lets others know that they should not build or dig in the area.
