Forestry Equipment

A slasher, also known in the forestry industry as a saw-buck, is a separate bar-saw used for bucking trees near a landing. A loader is used to position the tree into the slasher for bucking. The slasher features a rack in front of the saw with bars spaced two to three feet (0.6 to 0.9 m) apart to measure the length of the cut.
